Children will bring a book home every evening to share and enjoy with their parents. It is expected that every child will read each evening at home. Parents will sometimes be approached by the class teacher to practise a particular skill with their child. 'Fun ways to learn at home' is a weekly sheet of suggestions of activities to continue your child's learning experience at home. A Curriculum Update sheet is provided each half-term to inform parents about what is being taught in the foundation subjects. Parents are encouraged to follow up these subjects by visiting museums, researching at the library and on the internet etc.

Children also need time to play after a busy day at school. Through play the foundations are laid for everything that they will learn at school both academically and socially.
