Healthy Schools

At St Thomas of Canterbury Infant School we believe that being safe, healthy, cared for and having the ability to share our opinions are crucial in order for children to grow, develop, learn and achieve. We are currently working towards our validation for Healthy Schools Status. As part of this the Healthy Schools Club, alongside Mrs Cumpstey, Mrs Morum and Mrs Nunn, continually work to evaluate our strengths and identify areas we can further develop.

We ensure that all our children receive a daily snack, which is either a piece of fruit or a vegetable, and all children are entitled to a free hot school meal. The meals are fully compliant with the required food and nutritional standards set out by the local authority.

We offer a range of extra-curricular clubs which take place at lunchtime, before or after school. All children are encouraged to be active and receive at least two hours physical activity per week.
